The 7 tabs:
• Start Here — who’s moving, from where, to where, moving date, today’s date (typed — see below), household size, movers or DIY. Everything reads from here.
• Dashboard — the whole move on one screen, all formulas, with an Estimated vs Actual chart.
• Move Budget — 16 typical moving costs pre-filled (movers or truck rental, boxes & supplies, packing service, storage, cleaning at both homes, utility deposits, travel, first-night supplies), with variance and automatic Over budget warnings.
• Task Checklist — 36 tasks grouped 8+ weeks out / 4 weeks / 2 weeks / 1 week / moving week / first week in, each with a practical note and a Status dropdown; % complete per group and overall calculates itself.
• Box Inventory — one row per box: room, contents, fragile flag, packed and unpacked tracking, with counts and % packed / % unpacked feeding the Dashboard.

One deliberate difference: the countdown is worked out from a “today’s date” that YOU type — this workbook never uses TODAY(). Spreadsheets that read the clock quietly rewrite themselves every time you open them; this one only changes when you do, and a past move stays exactly as it happened. In moving week, just update the date cell each morning.
The example is a real-shaped move, not a fantasy. The filled example follows a fictional family (the Parkers) moving from Tampa to North Port, Florida — six days out from the move, checklist 61% complete, 24 boxes logged and 18 packed, half the address changes done… and a gas connection flagged GAP RISK because the old service stops two days before moving day and the new one starts three days after.
