Small jobs, all day, every day — a faucet here, a fence there, a ceiling fan on Friday. The work is easy to track in your head and almost impossible to add up at the end of the month. This tracker does the adding up: log each job once, and it works out what the job actually made you, what the month looked like, and who still owes you money.

It starts on Start Here: your name, your hourly rate, and your materials markup %. One honest note about the rate — it is what your time costs the job (what you pay yourself per hour), not the price you quote the client. That is what makes the profit column tell the truth.

The 5 tabs:
• Start Here — your name / business name, hourly rate, and materials markup % (a quoting reminder: price materials at cost plus your markup).
• Dashboard — the year on one screen: jobs logged, revenue, job costs, job profit, average profit per job, what clients still owe you, business expenses, and the bottom line after expenses.
• Job Log — one row per job: date, client, description, type dropdown (Repairs, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, Installations, Yard/Outdoor, Other), hours, quoted amount, materials and other costs, amount charged, paid so far, payment status (Paid / Deposit Only / Unpaid). Profit and balance due calculate themselves; unpaid balances shade amber.
• Monthly Summary — type the 1st of a month and the month fills itself in from the Job Log: jobs, revenue, costs, profit. It uses only the dates you typed — no TODAY() tricks, so a finished year never changes under you.
• Expenses — the overhead that is not tied to one job: tools, vehicle/fuel, supplies, insurance, phone. Kept separate from job costs on purpose, with category totals, so a dollar of materials is counted exactly once and the Dashboard can subtract overhead once, at the end.

The example is a real-shaped four months, not a fantasy. The filled example is a fictional solo handyman (Delgado Home Repair) with 15 small jobs from January to April: a drywall patch, a faucet swap, ceiling fans, a fence repair, deck boards, a garage shelving build. $4,070 charged, $602 of job profit (about $40 a job — small jobs are thin, and seeing it clearly is the point), $600 still owed across 2 unpaid jobs and 1 deposit-only job, and $721.50 of overhead that puts the bottom line at −$119.50. The Dashboard shows a note explaining why — in the first months, the tools and insurance land before the work does. Every number is hand-verifiable.

Honest positioning — which RemodelLedger trades tool do you need?
• Solo handyman, small jobs, want it simple? This one.
• Quoting five-figure remodels, running subs, need a client quote sheet that hides your costs and per-job margin flags? Step up to the Job Costing & Quote System ($24.99).
• Want both? The Trades Bundle ($32.99) includes the Mini and the Job Costing system — save $4.99 vs buying both.

You receive 3 files:
1. The tracker, BLANK — your working copy for the year (start a fresh copy each January).
2. The tracker, EXAMPLE — the fictional handyman’s first four months filled in, so you can see exactly how everything works.
3. A Quick Start Guide (PDF) — setup in about 5 minutes, every tab explained, and a walkthrough of the example.

Good to know:
• Works in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Yellow cells are for typing, grey cells are formulas — that’s the only rule.
• No subscriptions, no macros, no add-ons. Buy once, reuse every year.
• Instant download — files are available as soon as you check out.
• This is a job-tracking and bookkeeping tool — not tax or accounting advice.

About how this was made: This spreadsheet was created with the help of AI tools, then independently formula-tested (97 automated checks recalculated and verified, including blank, zero-value and money-losing-job cases) and reviewed before listing — the same standard as every RemodelLedger product. The example business and its numbers are fictional.
